  • Sadly the Houston Suburbs do not offer public transportation so a car is an absolute must, I drive 30 miles one way to work.

  • Not even gas shortages. Right after Ike and during Rita there were gas shortages and there were no riots.....

  • I live in the Pearland Alvin Friendswood Manvel area. I remember the Rita Fiasco, I was living and working in Sugar Land at the time and it was horrible. I was still living there when Ike hit so we were far enough away we didn't need to evacuate.

  • I live in Houston, I remember the mass exodus from Houston before Rita. It was horrible, there are about 8 million people in the Houston area and it seemed at least half decided to leave. The sad thing is most of the people would have been safe even if Rita had hit us.

  • Try living in Houston. Rush hour starts at 5am and doesn't end till 9 or later Afternoon rush hour starts at 3 and doesn't end until after 6
